life while accepting the pain that inevitably goes with it.

way and be the person who you really are deep in your heart, whether that's as
an individual in your own life or as a professional in your work helping
How I work with ACT
I work using ACT in two ways: with individuals on a 1 to 1 basis and in groups
with Coaches / Therapists / Health Professionals. See below for further
ACT FOR INDIVIDUAL 1 TO 1 WORK
In sessions you will learn new skills which will help you improve your
quality and enjoyment of life. You will form new habits and ways of being that
will enable you to be resilient when you encounter the stresses and challenges
that life will inevitably throw at you. It will help you understand who
you truly are in your heart, what is important to you and how you want to show
up in your life so you have a clear purpose and direction as you go
Create a bespoke toolkit so you can create new habits and behaviours
Enable self-acceptance and (re)connection with self
Understand and harness the power of your personal values
Enable self-value and responsibility
Understand your passion and purpose
Create goals for your future and an action plan to make them happen.
Core Elements of 1 to 1 ACT Therapy Sessions
There are six core processes of ACT which we will explore during our
Acceptance: Be emotionally open without clinging or avoiding.
Defusion: Notice what you’re thinking, take what’s useful and leave
Present Moment: Bring your attention to the present moment in a way
that’s flexible, fluid and voluntary. Having the ability to switch off from
living on auto-pilot to fully engage.
Values: Work out how you want to show up in your life. Be true to what
is in your heart and bring meaning and purpose into your life. Values are the
qualities you want to reveal in your life moments.
Committed Action: Choose to build habits around what brings your life
meaning and purpose.
Self As Context: Awareness of your true consistent inner self. The
spark that makes you the individual unique person that you are.

ACT FOR COACHES / THERAPISTS / HEALTH PROFESSIONALS IN GROUPS
I run an online ACT Peer Practice Group every 2 weeks on a Wednesday at 5pm (UK time), and these are listed on the MindFreeks Calendar.
The event is for Practitioners to come together and practice using ACT tools and techniques as well as using ACT 'language'. ACT is a 'doing' therapy, rather than just talking, so being able to practice the experiential exercises is really helpful, helping the Practitioner build competency and confidence.
The event is open to any Coach / Therapist / Health Professional who wants to incorporate ACT into their work helping others, so will be attended by others outside this community.
